Community Resources Inc. in partnership with Milestone Technical
Institute
(MTi) is currently looking for EMPLOYERS who are interested in training
their staff or choose from a pool of qualify job seekers trained with
skills specific to their company. The
Texas Workforce Commission - Self Sufficiency Fund provides grants for
customized training programs. The training helps develop motivated and
skilled candidates for businesses seeking qualified
employees.
Purpose and Goal is to assist: - Businesses
by designing, financing and implementing customized job training
programs for the creation of new jobs and/or the retraining of existing
workforce.
- Recipients
of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, or a parent, including a
noncustodial parent whose
annual wages are at or below $37,000, to obtain training, get jobs and
become independent of government financial assistance.
How it Works:
- Insight
and MTi customize the training course curriculum in order to provide
your job applicants the unique and specific skills needed to fill entry-
to mid-level in-demand
occupational skills. - The
Self-Sufficiency Fund pays for the training, and the Insight / MTi use
the training methods that best accommodate the business, such as
classroom simulation,
on-site, hands-on and online instruction. - Additionally,
trainees receive ongoing support through the training to ensure a
smooth transition to the workforce. Support services might include child
care and/or
transportation assistance, as well as assistance with the purchase of
uniforms required for the workplace. - Additional
support might be provided through the services of a job coach and
incentives for successfully reaching milestones throughout the training
program.

Employer Partners Responsibilities: - Help create short-duration, customized training
- Sign an agreement with our agency outlining roles/responsibilities
- Recruit from a pool of qualified job applicants - Provide information: occupation, employment benefits, wages, SSNs
- Use
Work in Texas to post jobs
- Establish 85% goal: trainees to be hired, continue to work for 90 days.
